bwm-ng is command line bandwidth & disk i/o monitoring tool that shows stats in real time.
You can use sudo apt-get install bwm-ng (Debian/Ubuntu) to download & install into your Linux machine.
paul@paul-ubuntu:~$ bwm-ng - Monitor all interface's bandwidth
